Field service management software for growing contractors

Short answer: you've outgrown spreadsheets when jobs are approved but not scheduled, work is done but not invoiced, or only one person knows where every crew is.

Signs you've outgrown the spreadsheet

Each of these leaks money or time. Software doesn't fix process on its own, but it gives everyone one record of the job.

  • Estimates are approved by text and nobody adds them to the schedule.
  • Change orders are agreed on site and missed on the final invoice.
  • Receipts sit in trucks until the end of the month.
  • The owner is the only person who knows the whole week.

What the software should cover

For a growing contractor the core loop is estimate, schedule, do the work, invoice, get paid. Look for software where each step reads from the one before it, so nothing is retyped. Add jobsite records (daily logs, photos, change orders, punch lists) and expense capture so you can see real job cost.

Roll it out in stages

Start with customers and the schedule. Once crews are using the mobile app every day, add estimates, then invoicing and payments, then job records. Trying to switch everything in one week is the most common reason a rollout stalls.

Fieldiverse covers that loop and includes a construction hub for daily logs, change orders, draws with retainage, punch lists and permits.
